Hotel management student stabbed to death in Malviya Nagar

A hotel management student was hunted down and brutally stabbed to death by half a dozen assailants in the Begum Pur area of ​​South Delhi. After committing the murder, all the accused fled.

Confirming the incident, DCP South Benita Mary Jaikar said the deceased was identified as Mayank Panwar, 25, a resident of Shahpur Jat in South Delhi.

Upon hearing the news, a team of police officers from Malviya Nagar Police Station attended the scene, where they were informed that the boy had been taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The body of the deceased was sent for autopsy. A case under Section 302/34 of the ICC has been registered at Malviya Nagar Police Station and an investigation into the murder case is ongoing.

“All defendants involved in the murder have been identified. Police teams are engaged in a massive manhunt to catch the culprits. Soon they will be behind the bar,” a senior police official said, adding that the motive for the murder can only be determined after the arrest of the accused.

According to DCP Sud, on August 11, a PCR call was received by the local police regarding the stabbing of a person near the DDA market, Begum Pur. Some police rushed to where they were told the injured had been taken to hospital.

Later, information was received from the AIIMS trauma center about the death of the injured, namely Mayank Panwar, 25, a resident of Shahpur Jat.

Narrating the incident, a friend of the deceased, Vikas Panwar, informed that on August 11, around 7 p.m., he was sitting with Mayank at the Qila located near Begum Pur of Malviya Nagar. Suddenly 4-5 strangers emerged and argued with Mayank.

After the brief altercation, they left the scene only to return after a while with a vengeance and started throwing stones. To save themselves, they both attempted to flee from the location, but the attackers managed to grab Mayank after a fierce chase. They subdued him near Gate No. 3, Begam Pur DDA Market and started stabbing him multiple times relentlessly. After committing the crime, all fled.

The police have registered a case in the relevant sections, and different police teams are looking for the accused.
