Lexicon Institute of Hotel Management collaborates with Marriott International


Lexicon Institute of Hotel Management in Pune by The Lexicon Group of Institutes has recently joined Marriott International in India to nurture, develop and nurture talent in the hospitality industry according to the current expectations of the industry as a whole.

This week marked an important milestone as Andrew Newmark – Vice President of Human Resources, Asia-Pacific (excluding China) Marriott International, Rimal Dsilva – Director of Human Resources Projects – India, Marriott International, as well as Nasir Shaikh – President- Managing Director, The Lexicon Group of Institutes & MultiFit, Gurmeet Singh – Chief Mentor, Lexicon IHM and Gladvin Rego – Principal, Lexicon IHM opened their first on-campus classroom with the hospitality giant.

Veterans, leaders and industry experts have come together to create an institute that is set to usher in a new era for hospitality education in India. The Lexicon Institute of Hotel Management grew out of hoteliers who formed the ‘Governing Council’ and came together to create a Hotel Management college ‘By the Hoteliers, For the Hoteliers’.

As part of the agreement, Marriott International in India will sponsor a class in the program, and students are expected to receive mentorship and career guidance from Marriott India management. In addition, students will be supported in projects and will be exposed to real hotel priorities and challenges.

“The aim of the hotel school is not just to impart theoretical knowledge, but to focus on a 360° development cycle that focuses on all aspects of development, from their state of mind to health mental health, skills development, culture integration, knowledge enrichment and above all understand the importance of business integrity and leadership in a people-oriented culture.Students will have this rare opportunity to develop skillfully under the guidance and mentorship of senior leaders and industry experts.
