Global hotel management group Swiss-Belhotel International is set to expand its hotel portfolio in Asia through a joint venture with Odyssey Asset Management.

Working with Odyssey to identify expansion opportunities in Japan and other countries, Swiss-Belhotel International aims to strengthen its position in the region

Swiss-Belhotel International Chairman and President Gavin Faull said the partnership will play an important role in the group’s aggressive expansion strategy.

“Our commitment to hospitality is reflected in our determination in our global expansion plans, and with Odyssey, we are even more confident in achieving our goals,” Faull said.

“We are excited to expand into new territories with our unique proposition of a winning partnership philosophy, working hand-in-hand with owners and investors to achieve desired business goals.

“Swiss-Belhotel International plans to double the number of hotels under management to 300 by 2025. Our partnership with Odyssey is part of this aggressive expansion plan.

Odyssey co-founder and CEO Alex Walker said the two companies will complement each other in this partnership.

“Odyssey’s expertise in the Asian hotel real estate market and Swiss-Belhotel International’s drive to deliver high-quality hotel experiences to their guests complement each other,” he said.

“Our mutually shared principles and commitment to delivering value and quality lay the foundation for shared future success. Odyssey is confident that with the expertise and experience of Swiss-Belhotel International, and their standards proven brands, they will be well received by the Japanese and Asian hotel industry.

Swiss-Belhotel International currently has 125 hotels and projects in 19 countries. The group says there is a demand from developers and owners of existing buildings in Japan to partner with international hotel groups like theirs to leverage the quality of their brand, service offering and their international capacity.
